The 28th Year
I am already 5 days into the 28th year of my life and it already has had its share of adventure to speak of.
To backtrack a bit, the visit to Louisville went well. Mom and dad were certainly shocked to see me. It felt good to see them once more as the next time will likely be Christmas. One drawback though to seeing your family about twice a year is that you see how quickly they are aging at this point in life. I know its life, but it is just so sad to see sometimes.
The bday night out at the club was fun. Saw some old friends....saw some I didn't want to see. But, overall....I saw my old friend who I hadn't been around in years. Ironically he was the first person I saw.
Spent Sunday with family. I went to church with mom and kerry. Sigh..I don't get the whole layin on the floor and screaming and crying, but it seems to work for mom. She is always crying so hard in church. In fact, everyone there cries. I don't want to type much more c/ I don't want to bash what I saw....just the whole concept of religon fascninates me.
Monday I chilled as well hanging around the city. I went to a Books a Million where these two older guys starting hitting on me. The really funny part about all of that is there I was reading the Advocate in the magazine section. The stalker homos also picked up other gay magazines and stood close to me. Then all of a sudden this really hot, muscle guy comes in the middle of us all and picks up a Hustler. He stands there for a moment...then looks around to realize he is surrounded by gay men, and casually puts up his magazine and steps away. Yes girls...we still got it :)
I then had dinner with Drew and JJ. This is something several people are baffeled over. Drew is my ex of about 3 yrs...JJ I dated right before Drew. And now they are together. Weird? Not really...to be expected in our lifestyle I think. I love both of them dearly..and just want both of them to be happy. So it was cool to see them in their element having dinner. I, on the other hand, had some drama as I quickly realized I was allergic to the batter of the chicken fingers!!! I started to swell up and I had to quit eating them. Talk about embarrassing. If I had ended up being allergic to chicken itself...I would die.
Tuesday I stopped by WBKO to see my old crew...chat with them...had a good time. They actually offered me my job back. Oh well.
Then had lunch with lil michael...was nice to get to see him again. Really nice guy...someone I definately do not regret ever meeting.
Then it was time to hit the road. 10 hrs later...I arrived in Charleston near 1am. Boy I was TIRED!!!
Nemo did really well on this trip. He had a blast at moms...even found him a pet turtle to keep. And he slept in the car to and from, which I didnt expect. He is such a good puppy and is indeed my lil boy. And tho he slept in the car, he was still my counselor as I talked his head off.
Wednesday...well. Was different. I was lazy in bed..trying to recover from all of the above when I discovered a few things from someone online. Now, I hate drama period so I did what I could to handle it. I am not going to mention names as there is no need too. Just for the person who reads this and knows what I am talking about, just remember to be upfront. You will often find the things you try to hide are not as bad as the act of hiding them itself.
Last night...was fun. Our morning show anchor is leaving for WI so we had a going away party for her at Torch. My friend Buddy from MSNBC was also in town so he joined me and Zack there. Was a good time. I had several LIT's!!! And boy I was feeling it.
Buddy and I then went to Dudleys for a bit. He started to get sick...
So Kevin actually took me home. And Kevin, if you read this...thank you for the talk last night. You are an amazing friend.
And to Nemo, thank you for not barking while I type this ...this morning. ....Dammit..spoke too soon. Okay, time to take him out.
Til next time.
